Here you will be greeted with a welcome drink, whilst settling into this comfortable hotel with scenic views of the rolling Italian countryside.

Tonight you will dine in one of the beautifully decorated halls, richly furnished with Savonarola chairs, rugs, china and crystals. The menù offers traditional dishes with a gourmet touch,  all cooked with local products.

Spend your first night at the castle.

Day 2:  Castle of Masino

After breakfast, departure to the Castle of Masino, a FAI property (Italian Environment Fund), which stands on a hill overlooking a Morainic barrier of the Serra of Ivrea and on the hill of the Canavese area.

The Valperga family decided to build the castle in the 18th century, and lived there for almost 10 centuries. The last descendant of the solid family, the Count Luigi  Valperga of Masino, donated it to FAI in 1988.

The Ballroom is an opportunity not to be missed: its large windows create a perfect harmony between the external panorama and the frescoed interiors, and the collection of carriages, mostly of the 19th century, preserved in the  Palazzo delle Carrozze… both of them are obligatory stops of the 90- minute  guided tour which will lead you in 20 different premises. You will have then free time to explore by your own the sumptuous Park, a perfect mix between the second half of the eighteenth century,  with the typical labyrinth of the “ Italian-style” gardens, and the first half of the nineteenth century with an “English-model” an extraordinary scenic route called the strada dei 22 giri (literally “road of 22 bends”).

Dinner at leisure. Overnight at the Castle of Pavone.
