Day 1: Castle of Pavone, Welcome Drink & Gourmet Dinner
From Turin airport/ railway station reach the castle by your own (60 km)
The Castle of Pavone is an antique dwelling situated on the hills of the Canavese area, still a very genuine area of Piedmont region.
Here you will be greeted with a welcome drink, whilst settling into this comfortable hotel with scenic views of the rolling Italian countryside.
Tonight you will dine in one of the beautifully decorated halls, richly furnished with Savonarola chairs, rugs, china and crystals. The menù offers traditional dishes with a gourmet touch, all cooked with local products.
Spend your first night at the castle.
Day 2: Castle of Masino
After breakfast, departure to the Castle of Masino, a FAI property (Italian Environment Fund), which stands on a hill overlooking a Morainic barrier of the Serra of Ivrea and on the hill of the Canavese area.
The Valperga family decided to build the castle in the 18th century, and lived there for almost 10 centuries. The last descendant of the solid family, the Count Luigi Valperga of Masino, donated it to FAI in 1988.
The Ballroom is an opportunity not to be missed: its large windows create a perfect harmony between the external panorama and the frescoed interiors, and the collection of carriages, mostly of the 19th century, preserved in the Palazzo delle Carrozze… both of them are obligatory stops of the 90- minute guided tour which will lead you in 20 different premises. You will have then free time to explore by your own the sumptuous Park, a perfect mix between the second half of the eighteenth century, with the typical labyrinth of the “ Italian-style” gardens, and the first half of the nineteenth century with an “English-model” an extraordinary scenic route called the strada dei 22 giri (literally “road of 22 bends”).

Day 3: Castle of Agliè & Wine Tasting, Venaria Reale
Breakfast and check out. Transfer to Agliè-
Often used as film location, the Canavese territory boasts a castle for every village… and among manors, fortresses and stately homes, stands the Castello di Aglié, protagonist of the guided tour scheduled in the morning.
A holiday resort of the Royal Family, the castle of Aglié offers a path among reception halls, small living rooms, intimate boudoirs and glittering ballrooms, along with a walk in the Italian-style gardens and in the Romantic Nineteenth century Park.
Last stop of the Piedmont’s weekend will be at an important wine-producer.
After a guided tour to the winery, with walks in the vineyard (weather permitting), you will be offered a tasting of three wines – Spumante Brut Charmat method, Erbaluce of Caluso DOCG, Canavese Rosso – served and to be paired with salampatata (typical dish of Piedmont consists of pork sausage and boiled potatoes), cheese and pastries with Passito… as well as a small homage “tasting of the local delicate of the sweet raisin” for the farewell toast.
In the afternoon proceed towards Torino area. Visit of the Royal Castle of Venaria Reale and its impressive park, built to create the Italian Versailles. Guided visit of the palace with professional English speaking guide.
Day 4: Castle of Stupiningi (optional)
After breakfast, check out. In the morning visit to Stupinigi Castle – completely restored this manor was used by Savoia Royal Family as a hunting residence. (entrance tickets and visit are optional and not included in the tour price).
