Itinerary

Day 1:  Arrival & Welcome Dinner in Farmhouse

Arrival at Catania airport and private transfer to your Farmhouse at the slopes of Etna Vesuvius.
Free time to realx at the property swimming pool. Welcome dinner at the Farmhouse and overnight.

Day 2:  Trekking on Volcano Etna & Wine Tasting with Lunch

Breakfast. Departure to Etna by bus. Meet your guide for a thrilling experience in the nature. You will experience an easy trekking on the volcano, an intense experience in nature. 

The trail begin from an altitude of 1100 mt. surrounded by the typical lava fields of Etna. You walk along a beautiful path that leads to the eruptive  events of 1981: some craters formed during a massive lava flow that twenty years ago flowed on the border of the town of Randazzo threatening its destruction. The track go on through unique and varying landscapes: pine woods that lead to ancient lava fields, which in turn will be followed by other forests. Along the trail there are various sceneries changing including colors and smells. After a walk climb of over 500 meters. You arrive at a place with incredible charm, here the domination of nature is absolute and the landscapes are extraordinary. In the distance the sea is visible through the clouds while the smoke plume of summit craters tells us that the mountain is alive and breathes with us.
Finally you will explore a beautiful volcanic cave. Inside it the light filters through the holes on the ceiling are spectacular; the cave is also very interesting from a geological point of view due to the phenomena such as stalactites by refusion. The exploration of the cave requires a small descend
made with ropes, helmets and torches will be provided by the guide. Before departure each hiker will be assigned their own equipment.
The actual duration of the walk is approximately 4,5 hrs with several stops. (alternatively a shorter version can be done)

At the end of the hiking, reach the eastern slopes of Mount Etna to enjoy wine tasting and a delicious lunch at an historical winery.
Return to the Farmhouse and rest of the afternoon free.

Possibility to have an optional cooking class at the Farmhouse. Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 3: Taormina Kayak Experience 

Breakfast. This morning leave for Taormina where you will meet your English-speaking guide. Taormina, commonly known as the Pearl of the Ionian Sea. There is a unique atmosphere around its streets, architecture, squares, and monuments, like as its majestic Greek-Roman theatre. Visit to the main archaeological and Medieval highlights of Taormina. After free time for lunch, take part of an adventurous 2 hrs kayak tour on the Taormina coast with an English-speaking instructor.
Return to the Farmhouse in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Catania highlights & local markets with Street Food Tour

Breakfast. Today leave to Catania where you will meet your guide and experience a special guided tour.

You will have a historical overview of the city, of the alleys and the squares of the old town, whilst giving you also the chance to sample only the best of its culinary delights! Enjoy us to be introduced to the Old Central Market of Catania, Piazza Duomo, Via Etnea (the main street of the city), Piazza Stesicoro with the popular ancient Roman Theatre and other.
Most important thing…you will taste not less than 15 popular street foods the city is famous for: arancino, horse meat meatballs, local cheese and olives, cannolo and ricotta cassatella and much more.

Free afternoon in Catania to continue exploring the city on your own or relax at the beach.

Return transfer in Farmhouse for Farewell dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Departure

Breakfast. Check out and transfer to Catania airport for departure. Time to say Arrivederci!
